Razi Metallurgical Research Center polymer laboratory was established with the aim of carrying out research tests on various plastic materials, elastomers, composites, foam and also providing technical services and consulting. The most important responsibility of the laboratory is researching and finding effective solutions for polymer industry issues. This laboratory has won the ISO/IEC 17025 standard certification in 2007 from Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) and has won the ISO/IEC 17025 in 2008 from Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP).
Another activity of polymer laboratory is to identify and evaluate the physical properties, mechanical properties, thermal properties, rheological properties etc… in accordance with the ISIRI, ASTM, ISO, DIN, EN, JIS, KES, PSA, JASO standards and more. In addition of carrying out tests mentioned below, this laboratory has also the equipment to carry out a variety of performance tests as well.

  Available services provided in polymer laboratory :
- Polymer base determination, plastic, rubber and composites analysis
- Determination of filler content
- Thermal analysis by Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) including Cp, Tg, Tm and OIT
- Thermogravimetric analysis or thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) is a method of thermal analysis in which the mass of a sample is measured over time as the temperature changes.
- Hardness test (shore A and, Barcol hardness test)
- Sampling methods (injection molding, rubber vulcanization, cutting with CNC etc.)
- Plastic tensile testing, rubber tensile testing (Equipped with an extensometer), composite, foam, wood, fabrics, paper, film etc
- Rubber, fabric and film tear strength by various methods(Elmendorf tear tester)
- Strength, compression and bending modulus of polymers, wood, firebricks and concrete
- Impact test (Izod, Charpy and Falling Dart impact test)
- Determination of density, combustion speed, Vicat softening temperature and HDT.
- Weathering and aging tests (ozone, UV, humidity, high temperature, low temperature, chemical, water, etc.)
- Rheological properties (types of viscosity, Melt Flow Rate (MFR))
- Wear, Resilience and stationary compression.
- Electrical resistance
- Friction coefficient determination, thermal expansion, thermal conductivity
- Hydrostatic pressure research testing including all kinds of hoses, pipes etc.
- Carbon black measurement and dispersion test.
- Spring constant measurement.
- TGA in metallurgical center, Thermal analysis from ambient temperature to 1000°C.Determination of water content, polymer base , fiber glass , filler, carbon black, decomposition temperature , plasticiser
