Advanced Materials and Nanomaterials

The constituent materials of a system's components are the most fundamental factor determining the final properties and capabilities of that system. Therefore, progress and development in materials will accompany progress and development in the system's performance.

This category of materials, which provides increased capabilities and applications for the assembly, is called advanced materials. These materials, obtained through modern production methods and targeted engineering operations, possess superior properties in terms of density, strength, deformability, modulus of elasticity, and more.

Advanced materials include metallic alloys, ceramics, gels, polymers, biomaterials, and composites (which are actually combinations of the aforementioned materials).

The attention of researchers and industrialists to the production of advanced materials is due to the fact that after years of research on conventional industrial materials and optimization of their properties, the limitations made it impossible to achieve higher and desired properties and features. Therefore, researchers adopted a new approach to achieve materials with different capabilities and applications.
