Metallurgy and Foundry

Metallurgy is a branch of materials science that deals with the شناخت and extraction of metals and the technologies of working with metals. This science encompasses the separation of minerals from ore, smelting, refining and ingot production, property improvement, alloy preparation, and the techniques of working on and forming metals.
Materials Science and Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that studies the production, properties, and applications of materials for various fields of science and engineering. At present and at the global level, considering the significant growth of research and technology in this field, materials science and its sub-disciplines are recognized as leading disciplines in many universities.
Metallurgical Engineering is one of the most important sub-disciplines of Materials Engineering, which deals with methods of extracting metal from ore, refining, alloying, and ultimately manufacturing useful components from metals. This discipline is rightly recognized as one of the oldest arts and at the same time one of the newest sciences, reflecting its long history and bright future.
The metallurgical industry has long been known as a mother industry, and with the ever-increasing advances in technology, its role has become more important and its practical aspects more diverse. Among the modern related fields are the synthesis of nanoscale and nanostructured materials, composite materials, biomaterials, advanced materials such as superconductors, semiconductors, and shape memory alloys.
The modern world is unimaginable without Materials Science and Engineering, and this knowledge is recognized as an integral part of modern and future-oriented technologies.
Razi Metallurgy Research Center, as the first private sector research center, has provided numerous industrial services and projects in this field since its establishment. Most industrial units active in this field have had and continue to have close and continuous relations with this center.
The various laboratory sections of the center provide specialized laboratory services to industrial units and maintain close cooperation in meeting technical and technological needs and transferring technical knowledge. In addition, the Design and Engineering Department of the center has played an effective role over the past 40 years in providing services to casting units.
Design and development of technical knowledge for the production of numerous industrial components and continuous cooperation with steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metal casting units have been among the prominent activities of this center, and most of these units continuously cooperate with Razi Metallurgy Research Center.
